Philosophy

Our philosophy of hitting is to make things as simple as possible! Between us we’ve either been teaching hitting, or actually hitting (at collegiate/professional levels), for over 50 years (combined obviously). We have personal discussions w/ numerous college and professional baseball hitting coaches and ensure we’re working on the right things.
We’ve watched thousands of major league baseball players swings (in slow motion) and identified some basic mechanics that every one of them do. We then do our best to get our hitters to do those same things. We honestly believe players should get hitting lessons from people that actually hit, pitching lessons from people that actually pitch and defensive lessons from people that actually played those postions.
We do believe that every hitter is different and will ultimately have their own “swing” so we leave many of those things alone provided the hitter can get in position and to the ball properly. Whether a hitter is a strider or non-strider, open stance or closed stance, on the plate or off the plate – none of that really matters that much. What matters to us is getting in an athletic position, in time, to hit…then take the proper “path” to the baseball…and extend thru the ball.
We use a “real-time” video system every time the hitters come in to hit. This allows them to SEE their swing IMMEDIATELY after that swing, while never having to leave the batting cage. They can view their swing side by side w/ major league hitters to clearly see the differences between their swings. This system also allows us to make copies of those swings for hitters to take w/ them if they desire (for a small fee).
We believe you should get your hitting lessons from people that hit or have hit, defensive lessons from people that played the position you are working on, and pitching lessons from pitchers. With this in mind, we make sure to personalize the lessons to ensure that occurs.
Our hitters work extremely hard, but have fun doing it…and so do we! We believe this is a long-term commitment. There’s no such thing as a “quick fix” for the baseball swing. We sincerely try to establish a long term relationship w/ the hitters and their families…then do everything we can to help them through the journey.
